In the United States, a month and a half after a Saudi soldier killed 3 people on a base, the American authorities are on the point of expelling a dozen Saudis who were in military training. They are said to be suspected of extremist ties.

Of the 850 Saudi soldiers training on American soil, a dozen are expected to be returned to Saudi Arabia in the coming days.

According to the CNN television channel, some of them were in possession of child pornography material while others apparently participated in a discussion deemed alarming on social networks. American investigators are suspected of supporting extremist positions, but the FBI says no one is accused of participating in the shooting that killed three American soldiers.

It was December 6, a 21-year-old Saudi soldier who was in training at the Pensacola base in Florida, opened fire, also wounding eight people before being shot.

He had published an anti-American message shortly before taking action. Since then, Saudi military personnel in training have been limited to theory classes. All field exercises had been suspended while the investigation was being carried out.

The shooting had triggered a review of security and background checks for all foreign military personnel currently trained in the United States.
