The purpose of the meeting between the new Cabinet Secretary Robert Rydberg and the Iranian ambassador was to "clarify what expectations we have on Iran in the continued work on the Ukrainian aircraft downturn," Foreign Minister Ann Linde wrote in an email to TT.

Among other things, Rydberg must have made demands that Linde and Prime Minister Stefan Löfven previously agreed on in terms of urgency and transparency in the cooperation, and that Iran must take responsibility towards the relatives.

In total, 176 people lost their lives in the crash.

Swedish team to Iran

Today, a first team is traveling to the Swedish embassy in Tehran to strengthen the consular work.

"Our primary focus now is to assist the survivors with the best possible support," writes Ann Linde.

Iranian President Hassan Rohani's concession that the plane was shot down came after three days of denial. He then promised compensation to the victims' families and said those responsible should be punished.
