In a post in DN Debate, Sofia Lenninger, the former head of culture in the municipality of Sölvesborg, writes that the difficulties began when the so-called Samsyret, which consists of SD, M, KD and the local SoL party, gained power in the municipality after the 2018 election.

She addresses the discussions about the new library plan and the contemporary art, which received a lot of media attention.

“I did not comment on the policy's ambition to control art purchases, but on questions from the press, I corrected the image that politics gave of municipal resources being placed on art that is provocative. This is not true, ”Lenninger writes.

She further writes that it is probably still impossible to continue her work as a service person in the municipality because she believes that all culture has become politics.

“Probably my position in Sölvesborg sooner or later had become untenable anyway. For how does one remain unpolitical servant when suddenly all culture in a municipal administration becomes politics? ”, She writes in the debate article.
