This is reported by the Kremlin press service.

"The course of preparations for the international conference in Berlin on the Libyan settlement was discussed," the statement said.

It is noted that the Russian leader also informed his colleague about the Moscow meeting with the participation of leaders of the parties to the conflict in Libya.

The press service said that the conversation took place on the initiative of the German side.

Earlier, an official spokesman for the UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarric commented on the Moscow talks on Libya, which took place on January 13. According to him, it is important that these events help organize the meeting in Berlin on the Libyan settlement.

It was noted that the Russian-Turkish talks on Libya held in Moscow ended without signing an armistice agreement.

As noted by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, progress has been made in the negotiations. A draft document was considered that will make it possible to specify issues related to the ceasefire, it was signed by the Chairman of the Government of National Unity of Libya Faiz Saraj and the Chairman of the State Council Khaled Mishri.

In turn, the commander of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar and the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies in Tobruk, Agila Saleh, asked for a little extra time “until the next morning” to decide on the signing of the document.
