It was in Västervik at 19.30 that a patrol car suddenly got a powerful laser beam through the box.

- They were driving around in a police car and someone pointed a laser at them. They turned around to check, and then got off the laser pointer again, says Daniel Lundh, internal commander of the police.

It was a man in his 20s who was known by the police before. The police immediately searched his house and found the laser pointer he had used.

- It is much more powerful than regular laser pointers, and it requires permission. It can cause injury if you look someone in the eyes, says Daniel Lundh.

Despite the risk, no one was injured in the attack. The 20-year-old is now suspected of violating the Radiation Protection Act and violence against an official.
