January 13, 2020 The anti-cyclonic dominance that began at the beginning of the month is expected to ease over the course of this week with high pressure undermined by more unstable currents. The experts predict this. Already today, some rain will wet the Ionian sectors. From tomorrow, Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16, the high pressure will continue to condition the weather on most of Italy, with the sun prevailing in the center-south and on the hills but with overcast or locally cloudy skies in the Po valley: light rain will bathe Liguria and upper Tuscany.

Things will change significantly starting from Friday 17 when "a first weak disturbance will detach from the perturbed North Atlantic flow and reach Italy. The weather will worsen above all on the central Tyrrhenian regions and on Emilia with some rain". On Sunday a second disturbance, "more organized, will cover the sky all over Italy, once again hitting the central regions, all with rain and snow on the Apennines above 1,200 meters but with decreasing altitudes".
