Italy's Federica Brignone won a twelfth ladies' World Cup victory on Sunday in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee (Austria), moving to second place overall, behind Mikaela Shiffrin, eliminated in Super-G.

The 29-year-old skier was ahead of Swiss Wendy Holdener by 15 / 100th and her compatriot Marta Bassino (82 / 100th) after the slalom, taking advantage of the falls of Mikaela Shiffrin and the Slovak Petra Vlhova during the first heat.

Federica Brignone wins her third combined on the circuit, after winning in 2018 and 2019 in Crans Montana (Switzerland).

In the general classification of the World Cup, the American superstar Shiffrin remains in the lead, with 826 points, while Federica Brignone gains 100 points (565 pts) and is now ahead of the Slovak Petra Vlhova.
