Early Saturday morning Swedish time, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani acknowledged that the Ukrainian plane was shot down due to human error, calling it "an unforgivable mistake".

In a brief statement, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau demands responsibility for the shooting, AFP News Agency reports.

According to Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj says he expects a full-scale investigation from Iran.

- We expect those responsible to be brought to justice, and we hope that the investigation will proceed without any delays or obstacles, he says.

Furthermore, the President says that Ukraine awaits official apology and financial compensation from Iran and that the bodies of those killed are brought to Ukraine, and calls on Iran to give Ukrainian investigators full access to, and cooperation in, the investigation.
