“The exchange of views on the situation in Libya on the basis of the Russian-Turkish agreements reached at the meeting of the heads of state on January 8 in Istanbul continued. The desire of Russia and Turkey to provide comprehensive assistance to advance the process of political settlement of the Libyan conflict was reaffirmed, ”the press release said.

Putin and Erdogan also expressed their readiness to contribute to the successful holding of an international conference on the Libyan settlement in Berlin.

During the conversation, Putin told his Turkish counterpart about the results of negotiations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as negotiations with other leaders of regional states.

The parties agreed on further permanent contacts on Syria and Libya.
