Brigadier Amir Zadeh said that the soldier believed the plane to be a "cruise missile" and had "ten seconds" to make the decision.

In Kiev, the Ukrainian presidency announced that it is confident that Tehran will conduct an "expeditious and objective" investigation, after the latter admitted that it had mistakenly shot down the Ukrainian Boeing plane.
