The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 24-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault, with "violent touching", and three crimes of sexual abuse in Lleida, the regional police reported in a statement on Saturday.
The arrest, which took place on Thursday, January 9, is the result of an investigation that began in late 2018, after the Mossos had evidence that several girls had been sexually assaulted in Lleida, some in the portals of their House.
The alleged sexual assailant approached them from behind, covered their faces and carried out the assaults with "rapidity" , according to the Mossos, which made the investigation difficult since they heard of the first aggression, in the Pardinyes neighborhood.
The last of the assaults attributed to him took place in December last year in the Instituts neighborhood, near where the detainee lives, and the agents do not rule out that he committed other crimes, also "before 2018".
The man has passed this Saturday to judicial disposition before the Court of Instruction in functions of guard of Lleida, the investigation continues open and the Mossos do not discard new accusations.
