"The resolution of the House (US representatives. - RT ) is aimed at undermining the ability of the US Armed Forces to prevent the terrorist activities of Iran and the forces it supports, this is an attempt to prevent the president from protecting the country and its interests in the region from continuing threats," the deputy’s statement reads White House spokeswoman Hogan Gidley.
The White House emphasized that such actions on the part of the American Congress are "completely erroneous."
They also called this resolution absurd and political, as it “does not have the force of law.”
Earlier, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a resolution restricting Trump's authority to wage war with Iran without the appropriate permission of lawmakers.
