UN Security Council adopted a resolution on the extension of cross-border humanitarian assistance to Syria

It is noted that the number of border checkpoints at the borders has been reduced from four to two.

The resolution also provides for a reduction in the extension of the mechanism from one year to 6 months.

The mechanism on the border of Syria and Jordan, as well as on the border of Syria and Iraq has not been extended.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian Permanent Mission to the organization, Fyodor Strzhizhovsky, announced that a re-vote will be held in the UN Security Council on January 10 to extend the cross-border humanitarian assistance to Syria.
