Al-Jazeera correspondent in Ukraine said that the authorities in Kiev are dealing with seven assumptions about the crash of a Ukrainian passenger plane in Iran, and that they do not want to weigh one hypothesis over another.

While the head of the Ukrainian State Security Service, Ivan Bakanov, announced on Friday that the agency puts the possibility of a missile or terrorism at the top of the possible causes behind the plane crash, warning against jumping to "hasty conclusions" the Al-Jazeera correspondent says that the Ukrainian authorities confirm the secrecy of three hypotheses that can explain the cause of the crash .

As for the four hypotheses revealed by the Kiev authorities, that the plane had fallen as a result of being hit by a "Tor" missile, especially that the plane had fallen from a low height, which corresponds to the characteristics and function of this type of missile.

The Ukrainian authorities are also looking into the possibility of a collided plane crashing with a droning plane or another object, or the possibility of the plane being exposed to a terrorist act carried out by a person on board, and it does not exclude the hypothesis of technical malfunction.

Iranian cooperation
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Vadim Pristko, said that the Iranian authorities have allowed his country's government to view the data of the black box of the stricken plane.

In a press conference, Priestiko added that the Iranian side cooperated fully in the investigation, and allowed Ukrainian investigators to inspect parts of the plane’s wreck, noting that the Ukrainian authorities are examining the bodies of the victims and analyzing the chemicals found in them caused by the crash.

The minister revealed that the Ukrainian and Iranian sides are seeking to form an international team to lead the investigations into the plane crash, adding that his government will discuss with the Iranians an agreement on the location of the dumping of the data of the black boxes, calling for a thorough investigation regarding the circumstances of the crash.

In Tehran, the head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, Ali Abedzadeh, said that a joint committee of Iranian and Ukrainian experts had been formed to investigate the causes of the plane crash, which he confirmed had not been hit by a missile.

Abedzadeh said in an interview with Al-Jazeera that Iran has nothing to hide, and that it has invited the United States, France and all countries that had nationals on board to participate in the investigation, stressing that Iran has no intention to delay the investigation.

Thorough investigation
This comes as NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that reports from several capitals indicate the possibility of the Iranian defense system bringing down the plane, stressing the need for Iran to cooperate with ongoing investigations in this regard.

Stoltenberg said in a press statement, "We now need details from our intelligence, and the reports that came from several capitals confirm that no results have been reached yet, but it is noted that there is concern and concern indicating that the plane was shot down, perhaps by the Iranian defense system, which is why we Carry out a thorough investigation and to determine all the facts, and also obtain the full cooperation of Iran in these investigations. "

As for the United States, David Schenker, the Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, said that she wants a thorough and independent investigation into the incident that killed 176 people.

"I think we will definitely ask for an independent investigation into this matter, whether it's through the presence of our European (or) Canadian partners there," Schenker told a news conference in the UAE.

"I have seen some disturbing reports that the area of the accident has already been maimed or violated, I hope it will not be the case."

On the other hand, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov called for not making loud statements about the reasons for the Ukrainian plane crash in Iran until the experts' conclusions are announced.

Ryabkov told reporters he was fully convinced that it was futile to try to gain political points through this tragic accident, noting that it was necessary to give specialists time to analyze the situation and draw some conclusions, and at least refrain from some play.

Video of the injury
Western media and social media circulated a video clip said to show the Ukrainian plane was hit by a missile minutes after takeoff.

The US newspaper The New York Times confirmed the validity of the video, and published a report on the accident, saying that the plane was hit by an Iranian missile, but it did not explode completely, but rather tried to return to the airport again, but it exploded and fell.

Footage taken from the ground at night shows a flying plane, before a great flash appears in its path.

The Ukrainian plane crashed on its way from Tehran to Kiev at dawn Wednesday, when Iran was on alert hours after the Iranian Revolutionary Guards fired missiles at American targets in Iraq, in retaliation for the killing of a prominent Iranian military commander, Qasim Soleimani, in a US attack with a drone in Baghdad.

All of the 176 people on board were killed, including more than eighty Iranians, 63 Canadians, a number of Ukrainians and passengers of other nationalities.
