The hotel and restaurant union has collective agreements of two, and members of four, designated by the restaurants on social media, and Johan Svensson is the regional manager of the hotel and restaurant union.

- In the first situation we contact the members and hear about their experiences and experiences of the workplace to start an investigation.

Boycott on social media

It is after Expressen and Kvällsposten's articles about poor working conditions that a wave of reactions has come from both the public and politicians. Politicians promise tightened supervision and there is talk of boycott on social media. And now the union is reacting.

When asked what the sharpest measure can be, one responds by pointing to the working environment legislation.

- To request action and information. And if it is late that we do not get the information or that they do not comply with the legislation, we can move the matter to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, says Johan Svensson.

The Critic: Gives erroneous signals

Somewhat astonishing is that several of the designated taverns on the union's app and website are rated "shady conditions", which is based on the owners having a collective agreement, and the criticism is that it gives incorrect signals to the visitors.

Per Persson, who is the secretary of the hotel and restaurant trade union, believes that the collective agreement follows a number of obligations that have a positive effect on the conditions in several ways. And if what in these cases is suspected to be incorrect, there is a dispute settlement mechanism included in the collective agreement.

- And that means negotiations and we do that when we find out.
