He said this during a meeting on the development of the Crimea and Sevastopol.

According to him, the scale of the tasks in the healthcare sector is "really, huge."

“The industry is in poor condition, there are not enough specialists, the buildings and equipment of hospitals and clinics are worn out. And we are talking about the same problems across the country as a whole - it’s worse here than in Russia as a whole, ”RIA Novosti quotes the president.

He added that in the Crimea issues regarding licensing have not been resolved either, because of this, a bias has developed on the peninsula towards paid medicine.

Putin noted that it is necessary to eliminate this imbalance and guarantee high-quality free medical care to every inhabitant of the peninsula.

“I ask today to dwell on this topic separately and give concrete proposals on the situation in the healthcare sector,” he said.

Putin also instructed to work on the problems of water supply in Crimea.
