January 10, 2020 Free way of the Democratic-controlled US House of Representatives to limit Donald Trump's powers of war against Iran. The measure, called Iran War Powers, passed with 224 votes in favor and 194 against. The resolution, which forbids further military action to the President without Congress authorization, will now have to pass the Senate by a Republican majority. Three defections among the deputies of the Grand Old Party (Gop) in open challenge to Trump. "I hope all Republicans in the House vote against mad Nancy Pelosi's War Powers Resolution," tweeted the tycoon in the morning, attacking the Speaker dem.

The one fired by the Chamber is a 'concurrent resolution' which does not require the signature of the president and which is generally considered non-binding. Democrats, however, invoking the 1973 War Power Act that establishes the war powers of Congress and the White House, believe this represents a special case. A "ridiculous resolution" called it the White House. "The president has the right and duty to protect the country and citizens from terrorism," he said, defending the decision to kill Iranian general Qassem Soleimani by bypassing Congress. During a rally in Toledo, Ohio, Trump claimed that Soleimani wanted to target not only the US embassy in Baghdad but also in other cities around the world. "The radical left has expressed disdain for the elimination of this horrible terrorist" when it should be outraged for the "savage crimes" of the Iranian general. Soleimani "is one who murdered and slaughtered civilians, soldiers and whoever was on his way," insisted Trump but "we have Bernie (Sanders) and Nancy Pelosi who accuse me of daring to take him out without asking Congress for permission" when it came to a decision that had to be made "in a split second". Trump finally reported that the US was ready to respond to Iran after the missile raid against the two Iraqi bases that host US troops but did not do so because there were no deaths.
