This was reported by the press secretary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Yekaterina Zelenko.

“In connection with Putin’s next visit to the temporarily occupied Crimea, which was not coordinated with Ukraine, in order to monitor the illegal exercises of the Northern and Black Sea fleets of Russia, a note of protest was sent to the Russian side,” Zelenko wrote on her microblog on Twitter.

Earlier, Putin watched the course of the joint exercises of the Northern and Black Sea fleets in the Black Sea from aboard the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
