One of them is Philip Silvano, he stood and brushed his teeth a very ordinary everyday evening when it rang in the cellphone and he was alerted to a cardiac arrest.

According to the Swedish Cardiovascular Rescue Register, cardiac resuscitation in Sweden has been successful and more are surviving both inside and outside the hospitals. The explanation is most likely to be life-saving interventions from witnesses who are close to the person who suffered a cardiac arrest.

- The earlier cardio-pulmonary resuscitation is started, the greater the chance of the person who has suffered cardiac arrest surviving, says Lars-Erik Hedin.
