Jan Olevall believes that the increase is partly due to the fact that there is more wildlife in the ground, but also that there are more cars in traffic and that motorists have become better at reporting accidents.

- In 2019, there were 700 more accidents than it was three years ago. That is a lot and it has increased every year since 2010, says Jan Olevall.

More wild boar

According to Jan Olevall, accidents involving wild boars have increased the most, but you also see more accidents involving both deer and deer.

The fact that more accidents also occur means that more hunters are being sought and, according to Jan Olevall, more hunters in the county would be needed.

- We have about 140 hunters in the county who are on hand around the clock all year round. But in some places we would need more. As a search hunter you work voluntarily and they do a fantastic job, but we are constantly working to get more people into different areas.
