09 January 202010.06 The journalist Italo Moretti, a famous RAI correspondent in South America, died this morning in Rome at the age of 86. He began his career at the age of 17, collaborating in Perugia with the local editorial offices of the national newspapers. He joined Rai in 1966. He dealt with sports, news, internal politics and foreign politics. In 1968 he began his work in Latin America. From Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, he told of the coup and authoritarian regimes of those countries. In 1995 he took over the management of Tg3, and then became co-director of Tgr from 1996 to 1998.
