He had stabbed him 25 times. On Wednesday in Nantes, a 51-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison for violently assaulting his ex, reports the newspaper Presse Océan . The victim, a 21-year-old woman who was absent at the hearing, had been seriously injured: during the attack, described by the prosecutor as "barbarism", she had received numerous blows, mainly in the face but also in the hands.

The scene took place last November, at the exit of a nightclub in the Chantenay district in Nantes. Drunk at the time, the accused had first blocked the road to the car in which his ex-wife was, to "cause an accident," police reported. He then got out of his vehicle to assault the woman, taking advantage of the half-opened window, before fleeing. Wanted, the man finally went to the police station.

This father, plagued by addictions to alcohol and cocaine, could not have endured the end of the relationship with the victim, already the target of threats and violence, says Ouest-France . He received the obligation to seek treatment.
