The driver of an electric scooter died this Thursday morning shortly before 10am in Reims in a road accident. The victim was struck by a tram at the corner of avenue Laon and rue Léon Hourlier.

Four injured passengers

The accident also injured four passengers inside the tram, according to the departmental fire and rescue service of the Marne. One of them, in shock, was hospitalized.

It is the second fatal accident involving a scooter in Reims, according to France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne. A 25-year-old woman died this summer after a car accident in the city center.

Tram traffic was stopped between the promenades and the La Neuvillette district. It should gradually resume during the day.
