British MPs have given the green light to legislation allowing divorce between the UK and the European Union. In a historic vote, after three and a half years of crisis, they approved the final text which will allow them to leave the European Union on January 31.

The House of Commons, largely dominated by Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson, adopted the text with 330 votes in favor (231 against). After its examination by the House of Lords - the upper house of Parliament - next week and then the assent of the queen, the text, which translates into law the Brexit agreement, will have to be ratified by the European Parliament on January 29 , two days before the fateful date.
