Line Renaud and the Nobel Prize winner Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, co-discoverer of HIV, both at the head of Sidaction, will chair on January 23 in Paris the 18th edition of the Fashion Dinner for the benefit of the association fighting against AIDS, the organizers announced on Wednesday.

Intended to collect funds for research and aid to the sick, this evening organized since 2003 in partnership with the French Federation of Haute Couture, among the main charitable events in France, raised 650,000 euros last year. .

Half of the donations collected finance research and care programs and the other half of prevention and patient assistance programs in France and in developing countries.

Christelle Brua, pastry chef at the Palais de l'Elysée and best restaurant pastry chef in the world in 2018, and Amandine Chaignot, chef at the Pouliche restaurant (Paris), will be associated with the stoves.

According to Sidaction, 770,000 people died of AIDS-related illnesses worldwide in 2018 and 1.7 million people discovered their HIV status.

In France, almost 150,000 people are living with HIV, while 6,000 additional infections are diagnosed each year.
