The US Department of Defense announced, "The Pentagon", at dawn today, Iran launched a missile attack at dawn today at Ain Al-Assad base in Anbar province in western Iraq and another base in Erbil.

After the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia announced that it had carried out a missile attack on two American bases in Iraq, the "Pentagon" said that Iran had already launched a missile attack on American and coalition forces in Iraq, revealing that Tehran had fired more than 10 missiles at American forces in Anbar and Erbil, Noting that he is in the process of assessing the damages and studying the means of response.

"We are working on a preliminary damage assessment," Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement, adding that the two targeted bases were Ein al-Assad Air Base and another base in the city of Erbil.

The spokesman added that the Ain al-Assad base in Iraq was subjected to a missile attack, and it was not known if there were any casualties.

The US official added that there is no information yet about damage or injuries as a result of the attack, but he affirmed that the wing that includes the American military presence at Ein al-Assad base was affected by the missile strike.

A spokesman for the "Pentagon" also announced that the targeted installations include Erbil, northern Iraq, and Ein al-Assad air base, according to "Arab Net."

The spokesman added that ballistic missiles were fired from inside Iran at American military installations in Iraq, while a Kurdish source confirmed that the source of the missiles was Kermanshah in Iran.

The US military official added that his country will take all measures to protect its forces, partners and allies in the region.

On the other hand, it was reported that a siren sounded amid an American helicopter flight in the sky of Ain Al-Asad base in western Iraq.
