The elected center-right Pierre-Yves Bournazel proposed Wednesday in a letter to the deputies LREM Benjamin Griveaux and Cédric Villani an alliance of three for the municipal in Paris, the first accepted, the second declined.

"Let's see ourselves in the coming days", "let's meet to build the rally that Paris needs", wrote the elected representative of the 18th arrondissement, also deputy Agir.

In his letter, the Parisian elected representative noted a "Parisian paradox", with "an unpopular mayor (Anne Hidalgo, PS), residents mostly dissatisfied" but whose "the prospect of his re-election (is) firmly anchored in the minds" . According to Pierre-Yves Bournazel, "the atomization of the political landscape in front of the current mayor mechanically plays its game".

"Thank you for your proposal for dialogue with Cédric Villani and I, whom I accept with pleasure", tweeted Benjamin Griveaux in response.

Less enthusiastic, Cédric Villani estimated, in a press release sent to AFP, that "this is not the time to replay past debates but to expose our projects to Parisians, the only justices of the peace who are valiant in democracy".

"The stake of this election which comes is not to replace a team by another. But to do differently", added the mathematician, who tackled, without naming it, Mr. Griveaux "who, on the sets, is going over the top in matters of security, while refusing to the Assembly to vote an amendment which would have allowed the creation of the municipal police ".

Furthermore, at "the densification (that) Anne Hidalgo and Benjamin Griveaux wish to develop", he intends to "soothe and transform our capital". And to do this, he believes that "ecology is the keystone".

Despite the risk of scattering of votes, Cédric Villani, defeated by Benjamin Griveaux for the LREM nomination, maintained his candidacy and promised to go all the way.

A decision reinforced by the recent call of the environmental candidate David Belliard to build, with him, a "coalition for the climate" and the rallying Sunday of the former nomination contestant on the march and vice-president of the National Assembly , Hugues Renson.

"I do not underestimate either the personal tensions or even the annoyances that can arise from the intensity of a campaign," noted Mr. Bournazel, in an allusion to the insulting remarks of Mr. Griveaux towards his competitors. .

"Are we able to exceed our own ambitions and our egos?" Asked AFP Mr. Bournazel. But "who to embody all this? Benjamin, Cédric or myself? Again, this is not the priority question", decided the elected official in his letter.

According to a survey commissioned by Mr. Villani's team from Ifop and revealed by the press, Mr. Bournazel would obtain 4% of the voting intentions, far behind Anne Hidalgo (22.5%), Benjamin Griveaux and Rachida Dati (both at 17%), Cédric Villani (14%) and David Belliard (12.5%).
