Referring then to Lufthansa - who speaks of a proposal for a commercial partnership, but of no direct investment in Alitalia - Battisti clarifies during his speech in the Transport Commission: "He never formally responded to any initiative that we requested". The CEO of Ferrovie also underlines that "Delta remained the only interlocutor interested in participating in the operation also in terms of equity and confirmed the willingness to invest in equity with 100 million euros in the new Alitalia but above all to bring new skills This commercial contribution was therefore not limited to 100 million of the initial equity but was, more generally, enlarged to a value that we estimated at 240 million, for a total value of 340 million in the 4-year period of the plan " .
