A 32-year-old Argentine woman denounced her father for rape and said that as a result of the abuses suffered, she had four children who are now 20, 17, 13 and 9 years old, judicial sources told Efe on Tuesday.

The progenitor of the alleged victim, 57, was arrested by the authorities in the Argentine town of Arequito , in the province of Santa Fe (center), and two firearms were intervened.

Judicial sources told Efe that on Wednesday they will charge the detainee for sexual abuse , a charge to which an aggravating factor can be added.

For the time being, the investigators of the case requested DNA samples to determine the paternity of the four children of the alleged victim.

The prosecutor of the case, Juan Pablo Baños , told the local media Aire de Santa Fe that the woman reported that her father abused her since she was 9 years old , that is, for 23 years.

"I was afraid for the children, who were left in the care of the grandfather and there our action was precipitated by that danger she denounced," said Baños.

The prosecutor said that the mother of the complainant had separated from the father, and that until now he, his daughter and the four children and young people lived in the house as a result of the alleged abuse.

Baños said that according to the alleged victim, her father made her live "locked in her world" and could not get out of that situation, since he had also threatened her.
