On Tuesday morning, a couple who were worried about their 85-year-old neighbor in Linköping called the police. The older woman had not brought in her morning newspaper and had the blinds pulled down. The neighbors had tried to make contact with the woman, but were unsuccessful.

The police then got hold of a relative who could come with a police patrol to unlock the door. According to police, the elderly woman had fallen, but could not get up for her own machine. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"Without available neighbors, the accident could have had more serious consequences," the police write on their website.
