Passengers on a broken train were brought to their buses by farmers' trucks for about one kilometer. - Twitter screenshot

The images of travelers boarding a dump truck, unsuitable for transporting people, circulated on Tuesday on social networks, causing a little stir. The SNCF explains that it was farmers who offered to help the travelers, who broke down in the open countryside in Tonneins, in the Landes, this Sunday.

Today is #SNCF. A transhipment between Agen and Bordeaux carried out with a tipper truck! Absolute shame, contempt for users, safety conditions not respected! So @JPFarandou a word to add? Rather than attack the strikers, take care of the public service pic.twitter.com/JVkAZxQqHf

Their train, which ran between Bordeaux and Marseille, had to come to a stop in the middle of the track around 7:30 am following a problem with the electrification of the line. Unfortunately, evacuating the hundred or so passengers and their luggage is difficult because there is no practical route for the replacement bus.

Spontaneously, farmers then provided dump trucks to transport travelers for about one kilometer to their bus. The SNCF communication department recognizes that the process is not common, but it seems to have saved travelers a short morning walk.
