The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday called on the international community to ensure the stability of Iraq and the region, saying that "Turkish intervention in Libya is a violation of the positions of the Arab League."

In a statement broadcast by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) after a session held by the Council of Ministers today chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Information, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabana, said that the council "reviewed a number of reports on developments in the events and their progress on the regional and international arenas."

The Council reaffirmed “the importance of the Kingdom’s call for working to achieve the security and stability of the region and stave off all that may lead to an exacerbation of the situation as a result of the escalation of tensions and terrorist acts that warned of its repercussions”, pointing to “the current events in fraternal Iraq, and the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities To take the necessary measures to ensure the security and stability of the region. ”

The Saudi Cabinet affirmed, according to the Minister Al-Shabbanah, that the Kingdom has expressed its refusal and condemn of the military escalation and Turkish interference in the Libyan affairs in a manner that violates international principles and covenants.

Shabana said that, Turkish interference in Libya is a violation of Security Council resolutions issued on Libya, and contrary to the Arab position adopted by the League of Arab States last December, stressing that the intervention undermines international efforts to solve the Libyan crisis, and constitutes a threat to Libyan, Arab and regional security.

On the other hand, the Saudi Council of Ministers blessed the founding of the Council of States bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Al-Shabana said that the Saudi Council of Ministers stressed the importance of the Council's role in enhancing cooperation in the political, economic and security fields between those countries, and seeking to achieve their mutual interests and enhancing security and stability at the regional and international levels, because of the importance of the waterway of international trade and communication between civilizations and cultures.
