Edouard Philippe invited the social partners on Friday morning to Matignon to determine the "content" of the financing conference proposed by the CFDT as part of the pension reform, he announced Tuesday.

"The idea is good but we must agree on the mandate of this funding conference, on the time which will be granted to it to reach or reach consensus solutions", declared the Prime Minister, after having attended Tuesday morning at a meeting with unions and employers at the Ministry of Labor.

"It is an idea which allows us to envisage a documented, quantified, serene discussion, on the ways of bringing the current system back towards balance, and on the ways of being certain of being able to preserve balance in the future system ", welcomed Philippe again, while stressing that it" still requires a little adjustment ".

The question of the progress of the work of this conference could be crucial. If the government intends to present the bill on January 24 in the Council of Ministers and have it adopted "before the summer", Laurent Berger, head of the CFDT, suggested that this funding conference submit its proposals "at the end of July" and therefore that discussions on financial equilibrium are decorrelated from the reform of the system.

A prospect that the Prime Minister seemed to push again, who set the deadline "at the end of the examination (of the text) by the Parliament" for the taking into account "of the proposals or points of agreement which would be susceptible to emerge between the trade unions, employers' organizations and the State on the more specific question of the balance which occupies much the debates ".

Mr. Berger also reaffirmed Tuesday morning that it was necessary beforehand that "the pivotal age be removed from the bill" in order to hold this conference.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister "distributed a work schedule" to the social partners gathered at the Ministry of Labor. "There are many meetings that will be scheduled to discuss arduousness, gradual retirement, employment of seniors in the public and in the private sector, to try to take into account a certain number of proposals in the bill", a- he stressed.
