He noted that the Russian side strongly condemns the attacks on any diplomatic institutions.

“And we strongly condemned the attack on the American embassy,” Nebenzi quoted Interfax as saying.

He noted that at the same time, when the Security Council’s statement was almost ready and agreed with Russia, the attack on Suleymani on January 3 followed. Russia proposed amending the statement, however, according to Nebenzy, this was unacceptable to the American side.

Earlier it became known that Russia and China blocked a statement by the UN Security Council condemning the attack on the US embassy in Iraq on December 31.
