A good start to the year. In the Morbihan, the maritime gendarmes of the Lorient surveillance brigade arrested Sunday evening five Spanish poachers, three fishermen and two dealers, in the town of Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys. "We've been tracking them for a while," said Major Tromeur, the brigade commander.

- PiichikuPaachiku (@pichikupaachiku) January 2, 2020In the fishing bags, the gendarmes seized 109 kilos of barnacles. Very little consumed in France, this shell is very popular in Spain where its price can reach 200 euros per kilo à la carte from certain restaurants.
A similar case already in August
The semi-rigid boat as well as the trailer and the two poachers' vehicles were also seized. After their hearing, the five Spaniards were released. The public prosecutor's office of Vannes was seized of the case in which the regional committee of fisheries should constitute civil party.
In August, three Spanish fishermen had already been caught in the bag in the same sector with 110 kilos of barnacles.
