Japanese justice issues an arrest warrant against the wife of Carlos Ghosn. Carole Ghosn is suspected of having given false testimony. Japanese television NHK has reconstructed the story of the incredible flight to Lebanon of the former strong man of the Renault-Nissan alliance. He would have taken a seat in a box to hide.

Japanese justice has issued an arrest warrant for Carole Ghosn, Kyodo News and Jiji news agencies reported on Tuesday (January 7th). According to a statement from the Tokyo prosecutor's office, the girlfriend of the ex-CEO of the diamond brand is suspected of false statements in April 2019, when she was questioned about her possible meetings with a person whose name did not been quoted.

Arrested in November 2018, Mr. Ghosn was released on bail in late April 2019, but was prohibited from seeing or contacting his wife. A " punishment " to demoralize him, he protested. In fact, the prosecution already suspected Carole Ghosn of having contacted the protagonists of the case. After the flight to Lebanon, several media then presented it as the brain of the operation.

Anyway, Carlos Ghosn said last week - he will have the opportunity to repeat it Wednesday in the press -, that he had organized " alone " his exfiltration. A gigantic escape, which the Japanese public television channel NHK, with other media, is gradually reconstructing. In particular thanks to the images of surveillance cameras available to investigators.

On December 29, the former industry captain left alone his luxurious residence near the French Embassy in Tokyo. Surveillance cameras show him arriving at a hotel in Shinagawa, where two men, two foreigners, are waiting for him. Around 4:30 p.m., at Shinagawa station, Carlos Ghosn gets on a high-speed train with them to the city of Osaka.

He wears a hat and an anti-pollution mask. The train is crowded, but no one recognizes it. Five hundred kilometers separate Tokyo from Osaka. Arriving at Shin-Osaka station, the three men take a taxi to a hotel near the airport. It is 7:30 p.m. Two hours later, the other two men leave the hotel. They carry two large cases for audio equipment.

In fact, Carlos Ghosn took his place in one of them. Holes were drilled to allow him to breathe. Kansai Airport is not equipped with X-ray screening of large baggage and less private boarding. The two men who helped Carlos Ghosn flee to Lebanon are no longer in Japan either.

The most famous man in Japan, as our correspondent in Tokyo, Frédéric Charles , used so particularly daring tricks to leave the territory of the Japanese archipelago, one of the most powerful countries in the world. The Japanese Ministry of Transport now orders the systematic inspection of large baggage at all airports.
