A Canadian Westjet aircraft took off from the runway on Sunday for landing at the snow-capped Halifax Airport (east), an incident that did not result in injuries.
Westjet flight 248, a Boeing 737-800, was on a route between Toronto and Halifax, the capital of the province of Nova Scotia in eastern Canada, which experienced snowfall on Sunday.
172 passengers and 7 crew members
Westjet said in a tweet that the aircraft left the runway "after a normal landing" and that there were "no injuries among the 172 passengers and 7 crew members". The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has announced that it is sending a team to "assess the event".
Friday, a regional aircraft of Jazz Aviation, belonging to Air Canada, had lost one of the two wheels on the left side of its main landing gear on takeoff from Montreal.
No injuries either in an accident on Friday
The aircraft, a Dash 8-300, which made a Montreal-Bagotville connection, north of Quebec, had to return to land in Montreal after flying for a certain time to avoid landing with full tanks.
