Congratulations to @JGuaido on his re-election to the @AsambleaVE! Arrests, bribes and blocking access to its building were unable to derail # Venezuela's National Assembly. Only a transitional government organizing free and fair presidential elections can end the crisis.

“Congratulations to Juan Guaido on his re-election to the National Assembly ... Only a transitional government that organizes free and fair presidential elections can put an end to the crisis,” he wrote on his Twitter.

Earlier it was reported that the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Luis Almagro recognizes the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, Juan Guaido, as the legal chairman of the National Assembly of the country.

On Sunday, January 5, it became known that Guaido was dismissed from the post of head of the National Assembly by a vote of members of parliament, and deputy Luis Parra was elected in his place.

Guaido's supporters later said that he would remain as speaker of the Venezuelan parliament for the next term.
