Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Abdul Karim Khalaf, announced the start of preparing a mechanism to remove foreign forces from Iraq, adding that the Iraqi government restricted the international coalition movement by land and air.

For his part, the head of the Iraqi caretaker government, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, said in a statement that the Iraqi army has become stronger than before and has sufficient and necessary experience, as is the case with the ranks of other security forces working together to preserve the security and future of the country.

Abdul-Mahdi, who is the supreme head of the Iraqi armed forces, added that he was keen to provide the appropriate conditions for building a professional army belonging to Iraq, raising his flag and defending him, and placed at the forefront of his government's priority to confine arms to the state.

The Iraqi parliament voted yesterday on a resolution calling on the government to work to end the foreign military presence in the country.

The caretaker government, for its part, confirmed the start of legal measures to implement the parliament’s decision.

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on the armed factions to meet immediately and form what he described as the regiments of international resistance to confront Washington.

The Secretary-General of Asaib Ahl al-Haqq Qais Khazali said that the tax of killing the commander of the Iranian Quds Force Qassem Soleimani and Deputy Chairman of the Popular Mobilization Authority Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis is the evacuation of American forces and the purification of Palestine from the occupation.

Khazali added that the Iraqis will not be silent about the killing of their leaders and targeting Iraqi lands, and it is time for the American forces to leave, as he put it.
