It was their little dog, a 4-year-old Jack Russel, who saved them by waking the youngest of the girls, the mother told L'Est Républicain. The occupants were able to evacuate the apartment before the fire prevented them. It took the intervention of the firefighters to put out the fire. They also found a three-year-old girl who had disappeared in the evacuation of the other tenants.
The apartment was completely destroyed by fire. The family has been temporarily relocated pending better, says the regional daily.
