Iraqi activists posted on social media, a video in which the Secretary General of the Asa’ib al-Haq movement, Qais Khazali, vowed to avenge the killers of the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Committee, expressing that he held his neck in front of a group of his supporters.

Khazali appeared in videos and pictures published by his media office, wearing military uniform, during the funeral of the American bombing in Najaf, southern Iraq, on Saturday.

Khazali vowed that the Iraqi parliament on Sunday ratified a decision obligating the government to work to end the presence of any foreign forces on Iraqi soil, and this came during an exceptional session in the presence of the head of the caretaker government, Adel Abdul Mahdi.

Many Iraqis, even those opposed to Soleimani, expressed their anger at Washington for killing the two men on Iraqi soil and dragging their country into a new conflict.
