After a period of snowfall and rain in many places, SMHI now warns that it may be slippery on the roads.

- We have received a rainfall area over the country and it falls in the form of rain and wet snow. At the same time, the temperatures on the roadways are on the negative side in several directions and this means that it can freeze quickly, says Alexandra Ohlsson, meteorologist SMHI.

- But given the weather we are in, it is not entirely unexpected that we go out with so many warnings, says Alexandra Ohlsson.

The warnings apply mainly during the Sunday afternoon. In the evening, milder air is expected to draw in, precipitation is expected to subside and temperatures at road surfaces will rise.

Several accidents around the country

During Sunday's early afternoon, several alarms came about.

Among other things, in Hagfors where two cars frontal crashed and two people have been taken to hospital. A total of nine people, including three children, must have been in the two cars.

Two traffic accidents occurred in Sälen for a short time on Sunday afternoon. A total of eight people are supposed to be involved, according to police, but none of them should have sustained serious injuries.

In Uddevalla, several cars drove off the road and there also the police for extremely slippery road conditions.

"It is very slippery in many places in the region now, so it is important to take it easy," says Anna Göransson, spokesperson for the police in the West.
