The incident should have occurred shortly after 01 am during the night towards Sunday.

Unclear where the group comes from

The group of 17 people must have been near a tourist bus when the incident occurred.

According to both German and Italian media, the group consists of students from Germany, but at nine o'clock on Sunday morning it was still not clear where they came from.

Big rescue

160 people from the emergency services must be on site and work on the accident. On Twitter, you write:

"A serious traffic accident involving 11 injured and six dead occurred in Lutago last night".

Six people were killed on the scene, eleven were taken to hospitals, three with serious injuries. A woman has also been taken by helicopter to a hospital in Austria.

Driver taken to hospital
