American media reported that US President Donald Trump was eating "ice cream and meat" when it was announced that the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, had been killed by US drone aircraft in Baghdad.

The American Business Insider website said that Trump was in his Mar Lago resort in Florida when news emerged regarding the military operation that led to the killing of the Iranian general, and while Trump was eating meatloaf and ice cream, the US Department of Defense announced. The Pentagon said that the United States was behind the air strike. That killed Soleimani.

CNN reported that Trump was enjoying eating the American meal with a number of his friends and old politicians, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
The network said, that the scene of Trump at the time of the killing of Qassem Soleimani was marred by another position, when Trump issued an order to the American forces to carry out the missile strike on a Syrian airport in the spring of 2017, with a series of 59 missiles.

And Trump has stated, that

Trump stressed that the United States was not seeking to "change the system" in Tehran, and stressed that the strike was aimed at "stopping a war and not launching it," stressing that the commander of the Qods Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, was planning attacks on American interests.

"Soleimani was planning imminent and vicious attacks against American diplomats and soldiers, but we caught him ambiguously and filtered him," Trump told reporters at Mar Lago Resort.

He continued: "Soleimani made the death of innocents a satisfying passion for him," while warning "terrorists" against the consequences of revenge against the Americans, and he said: "We will find you. We will eliminate you. We will always protect the Americans and our allies."

Trump concluded his statement by saying, "I have great respect for the Iranian people, we are not seeking to change the regime" in Iran.
