The Iraqi army announced the fall of several missiles today, Saturday, inside the heavily fortified Green Zone, the Jadriya neighborhood in Baghdad, and the Balad Air Base, which hosts American forces, without causing any deaths.

"A number of rockets landed targeting the celebration square and the Al-Jadiriya area in Baghdad and the Balad air base in Salahuddin province, without any casualties," the army said in a statement.

A source in the special squad inside the Green Zone of the island Net, that a Katyusha rocket landed in the celebration square, while the second thunder was heard in the Jadriya area adjacent to the Green Zone in central Baghdad. Three civilians were wounded.

A Katyusha missile also landed on the Balad Iraqi air base (about a hundred kilometers north of Baghdad), which includes American soldiers and American planes, according to security sources at the scene.

The American embassy sirens sounded after the explosions were heard, and Iraqi security forces closed the road leading to the embassy site.

Hezbollah Brigades
Soon thereafter, American planes flew over the base and conducted a reconnaissance operation for the area, according to the same sources.

The US Marines have strengthened procedures to secure the compound of the US embassy in Baghdad, with tension escalating after the American raid in which the Quds Force Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qassem Soleimani and a number of leaders of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization were killed.

In the same context, Iraqi security sources reported that mortar shells fell on the presidential palaces complex in the city of Mosul, which includes American forces.

And the media reported that the Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq called on the Iraqi security forces to stay away from the American bases "for a distance of no less than a thousand meters, starting from Sunday evening."

Tehran promised the United States a "harsh response in the right time and place."

The Iranian Supreme National Security Council said, "The criminal attack on General Soleimani was the biggest strategic mistake of the United States in the West Asia region," stressing that "the American administration will not easily escape the repercussions of its miscalculations."
