The Agency for Disaster Management has in fact announced that there are 53 dead and that one person is still missing. Tens of thousands of people have had to leave their homes. Torrential rains that started the last year caused sudden floods and landslides both in the region and in the neighboring region of Lebak, at the southern end of the island of Java.
