When the emergency services arrived at the fire the night of New Year's Day, the apartment was already overcrowded.
- It burned out the windows and was a heavy smoke spread in the stairwell so we started extinguishing the outside, said Daniel Andersson, interim leader at the rescue service in Skellefteå, to SVT earlier this week.
The entire house was evacuated and several other apartments were damaged.
Now, a man is likely to be arrested on suspicion of arson.
