The study was conducted on the basis of a survey of the local population. It was proposed to answer the question: “Tell me, please, among your friends and acquaintances where you live, do you often use profanity, obscene language in conversations, or are they rarely used?”
According to published data, 18% of residents of Russian cities with a population of more than 250 thousand people “often” or “quite often” hear obscene vocabulary.
It is clarified that the least cursed in Russia are in Petrozavodsk, Cheboksary, Vologda, St. Petersburg and Khimki.
In 2017, Roskomnadzor called on the online community to abandon obscene language.
