A 60-year-old man was seriously injured after finding himself under the tram line in Joué-lès-Tours (Indre-et-Loire), this Thursday. The incident occurred around 12 p.m. in the Rabière district, indicates La Nouvelle République .

When he saw that the man, who was using crutches, was crossing the track, the driver of the tram warned by a signal and released the emergency braking. But it was too late and the sixty-something man got stuck.

A dozen firefighters were mobilized to rescue him. The lifting cushions were activated and the train was lifted with cables, says France 3 Center Val de Loire. The victim was then released and evacuated to the emergency room in serious condition.

In shock, the tram driver was picked up on the spot before being hospitalized. An investigation was opened to understand the circumstances of the accident.
