The city of Shanghai offered an exceptional spectacle to its inhabitants to celebrate the entry into the new decade of the 21st century. On New Year's Eve, it was not a traditional firework display but a drone show that was offered to spectators, reports the HuffPost . In fact, more than 2,000 drones took off and drew multiple light shapes in the air.
A computer synchronized choreography
Equipped with multicolored LEDs, the flying machines were at the edge of the Huangpu river, a hundred meters high. During this three-dimensional show, the drones thus sketched various shapes in the sky: planet Earth, a dragon, a starry sphere or a man in full flight.
All the drones were not individually guided but in a unified way by a computer which could thus program and synchronize their flying ballet. No incident has occurred. The show concluded with the traditional countdown in the Chinese city.
